Rebecca Frazier - Guitar, Lead & Harmony vocals
Rebecca Frazier is an award-winning singer, bluegrass guitarist, guitar teacher, and songwriter. Rebecca holds the honor of being the first-ever woman on the cover of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine (September 2006). She has also been featured in Bluegrass Now magazine for her flatpicking guitar and vocal accomplishments. Rebecca was the recipient of the 2009 IBMA Recorded Event of the Year award for her participation in the Daughters of Bluegrass recording, “Bluegrass Bouquet.”
A native of Richmond, Virginia, Rebecca has played guitar since she received a Yamaha dreadnought for Christmas at age 12. She spent her teen years playing in various acoustic bands and singing in church and school choirs. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in Music and Comparative Literature, Rebecca studied jazz guitar and voice at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. During her eight-year stay in Colorado, Rebecca co-founded the award-winning Hit & Run Bluegrass and has toured festivals and venues across the U.S. and Canada. The band released two albums: “Beauty Fades” (2003) and “Without Maps or Charts” (2005). As a mandolin player, Rebecca was a co-founder of the All Night Honky Tonk All Stars, a Gram Parsons/Emmylou Harris influenced alt-country band based in Colorado. Rebecca has also toured with Rounder recording artist Donna Hughes. She currently resides in Nashville, TN, where she does freelance studio and stage work and continues to perform and teach workshops across the nation with Hit & Run Bluegrass.
